Huggy Bear - L'European - Paris, France - December 20, 1992 - Soundboard

This band is definitely the poster child for too short of a career but I can see how they were more of a fringe band that not everybody even had a chance to hear. Part of the somewhat popular riot-grrrl movement of the early 90's (that included Heavens To Betsy, Bikini Kill, Sleater Kinney and a few more) but definitely more punk - in my opinion - than the aforementioned bands.

Setlist:

[unknown song]

Jupiter Re-Entry

U2 - Complete Salome (7 Discs!)

I wish that more bands would let this kind of material leak! There are literally hundreds reels of Beatles studio sessions available but outside of them it doesn't seem like much of this stuff makes it out for the general public to enjoy. As legend has it a lot of this stuff 'leaked' out from the studio sessions before the band even released the album (Achtung Baby). Supposedly Bono went into a local record shop and found a bootleg of some of this stuff already for sale! At any rate it's a nice peek into some of what goes on in the studio so it's a lot of hit and miss with lots of repetition. I still find it a fascinating look at the development of much of this album back when this band really mattered.

Smashing Pumpkins - Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del Mar, CA - October 26, 1993 - Soundboard

This one was broadcast on Westwood One (in the US) in little three and four song sets and later compiled into a complete show as a silver cd. I am not sure if it is in the correct order (or even all from the same date) as there seems to be a lot of misinformation going around on the net as to this show. I can say that it sounds great and it was perhaps the best period in this band's career.

Track Info:
Track 1-4: Westwood One In Concert 94-26
Track 5-6: Westwood One In Concert 94-41
Track 7: Westwood One In Concert 95-32
Track 8-9: Westwood One In Concert 94-32

The Smiths - The Troy Tate Sessions

These sessions were initially set to become the first SMITHS album but the band was unhappy with the results and switched to a different producer to complete the album.

From wikipedia:

After signing with independent record label Rough Trade, the Smiths begain preparations to record their first album in mid 1983. Due to the suggestion of Rough Trade head Geoff Travis, the band selected Troy Tate (former guitarist of The Teardrop Explodes) as producer of the sessions at Elephant studios in Wapping.[2] During the span of a month, the group recorded 14 songs.[3]
While recording a BBC session for Dave Jensen in August 1983, the Smiths met producer John Porter. Geoff Travis, harboring reservations about the group's session with Troy Tate, had given Porter a cassette of the sessions beforehand in the hopes that he could remix them. Porter told Travis that the sessions were "out of tune and out of time. Feeling the Tate sessions were unsalvageable, Porter offered to rerecord the album himself. Despite praising the work with Tate only a week prior to the press by stating "we've done everything exactly right and it'll show", Smiths singer Morrissey accepted (as did Travis), while guitarist Johnny Marr hesitantly agreed.[3]

The Cure - County Bowl - Santa Barbara, CA - July 13, 1987 - Radio Broadcast

This one has been bootlegged a lot and the complete show seems to be unavailable. The setlist/order of songs may be a bit dorked on this bootleg but it's a great souvenir from this time period in their career.
